Meet Emily: Animal Intuitive Healing Practitioner

Emily is fully trained and qualified as an animal intuitive energy healing practitioner. Since she was a little girl, animals have always been her passion. Growing up she believed she would become a vet or work at a wildlife conservation centre so she began to work towards a degree in Animal Health at the University of Alberta. After a couple years she discovered that she would be able to help animals and have a bigger impact on their lives with energy healing more than with the jobs available after the university degree. Emily left university to pursue this new path by training one on one with Reiki Master and Intuitive Healing Practitioner Lisa Sand, and it quickly became clear she had a natural talent in connecting with and helping the animals she began to work on. She had always looked up to her auntie Lisa and admired how she was able to help herself and so many other people improve their wellbeing and quality of life through intuitive energy healing. While in training, Emily spent a few years working at a local pet store, which allowed her to gain more knowledge and research on a wider spectrum of animals than she’d had before. She was able to help guests in a variety of situations, get very comfortable handling pets, and learn about proper care in habitat and diet for those pets. Emily now lives on her acreage which has opened up so many new opportunities involving livestock animals. She currently owns many ducks, dogs, and cats, and is excited to be blessed with cows in the future. At this time, she is putting her focus on all things horse related! Emily finds it fulfilling and exciting to use her healing ability with all types of animals.

During a session, Emily will work alongside her many wonderful guides to help in the healing of behavioural, emotional, and/or physical problems that your pet may be experiencing. End of Life sessions are also available. Please reach out for further information if your animal is terminal or to be euthanized. Emily would be honoured to meet you and help your loved one!

Frequently Asked Questions

To gain a better understanding if Intuitive Energy Healing is best for your loved one

Everything around us is Energy; living beings, objects, and even rooms/spaces. As many of us know from high school science classes, energy can be moved, shifted and transformed. Many of us can consciously feel energetic vibrations connected to different people’s moods and emotions. Energy healing is simply a practice of using that energy and channeling it to create positive healthy impacts in the physical, mental and spiritual body. Because of the high frequency energy being used, I am able to dissolve and release negative energy which ultimately causes disease and imbalance, to then allow the body to heal from the inside out. I have a background in Reiki but my sessions use combined practices that allow me to delve into more detail and have more clarification on what is clearing from what area of the body. Intuitive Energy Healing is a non-invasive and gentle practice making healing a peaceful and stress-free process for your animal. Sessions are also almost always done by distance which means there is no travel stress, or fear of new strangers, which can set fear or aggressive behaviour issues further behind. Once a session is completed there is a 5-15 minute conversation or voice recording detailing all that was found and what will be shifting out of your little one’s body. So, what kind of benefits can you expect your animal to have after a session?

· Balance within their mental, emotional, and physical states of being.

· Increased communication and understanding between the guardian (yourself) and pet.

· Improved negative behaviours by healing from the core of the issue.

· Release of environmental toxins and negative emotions like stress, aggression, depression, and frustration.

· Increased relaxation and the ability to self-soothe and shorten the amount of time they experience a negative emotion.

· Increase the body’s ability to heal on its own.

· Clear blockages and ensure energy flows continuously in the body.

· Clear past negative traumas, especially in rescue animals that come from negative pasts.

· Gain clarity on your individual pet’s needs and wants through guidance straight from your pet and my spirit guides.

· Gain guidance on how to positively change their personal routine for a happier, healthier life.

Below are examples of benefits that healing sessions have for horses. All sessions are recommended to be paired with vet visits and/or horse behaviourists/trainers dependant on the issue. Energy healing works in tandem with veterinary advice and treatments to give the horse the happiest, healthiest life possible. Sessions have many amazing benefits and can greatly improve overall quality of life however it is important to contact a vet immediately for any emergencies. I am not an equine nutritionist so diet concerns should be discussed with a Vet. Some results may take multiple sessions to see improvement depending on each individual animal and situation.

· Reduces inflammation in the joints and reduces the intensity of future flare-ups.

· Improves overall circulation as well as temperature regulation.

· Improves comfort during exercise, reduces arthritis pain, and boosts the immune system.

· Gain insight into the inner mind of the horse leading to a greater understanding between guardian and horse. Gain tools and guidance on how to better improve the riding experience from the horse’s perspective. Get a deeper understanding if the horse struggles with any mood imbalances like anxiety, depression, or worry, and be better able to adjust training to compensate.

· Better the overall bond between horse and rider. Clear past negative imprints/experiences which allows the horse to feel lighter, calmer, and more peaceful. Opening up communication between rider and horse can ease future tensions, and solve current troubles experienced whilst riding.

· Give therapy horses a fresh slate to be more patient and prevent burn out when helping humans. Therapy horses need to decompress and releasing negative imprints right from the source allows quicker relief and deeper relaxation. This allows the therapy horse to better aid and help more humans in need of their natural healing demeaner.

· Prolong health into senior years by keeping all organs and joints functioning properly. When on harsh medications with negative side effects, energy work aids the body in flushing out toxins from the medications as well as reducing the severity of side effects. Energy work keeps the body healthier longer, and medication side effects take longer to appear.

· When adopting a new horse with limited knowledge of their background, issues can arise quickly after purchase. A session can gain necessary insight on what the horse has experienced in the past, how to move forward and work through current issues, and solidifying and strengthening the new bond.

· Mares recently foaling often need postpartum care. Lactation issues, postpartum depression, irritation towards the foal, and physical trauma from giving birth are just some of the reasons a session would be necessary during/after foaling.

· Horses on stall rest become isolated, frustrated, and restless. These horses greatly benefit from sessions by clearing built up stress, anxiety, and loneliness, then aiding in relaxation and improving deep sleep which all impacts quicker healing times.

· Horses that experience frequent colic can benefit from regular consistent short sessions to aid in an overall better functioning gastrointestinal tract. Sessions can help prevent frequency of colic especially during diet changes, stall rest, and during times of stress. Energy work can also flush out smaller blockages, and aids bigger blockages in breaking down easier.

· General internal strengthening of back muscles, joints, and muscles all improve the ability for a horse to carry a rider longer and safer. Reoxygenating the muscles relieves tension and improves muscle function allowing the horse to perform at its greatest potential during all exercise and sport showings.

I have many clients concerned about Intuitive Energy Healing not aligning with their personal beliefs and religions. This healing is only using energy and high vibrations coming from natural sources like the Earth itself and is meant to heal every living thing without discrimination. My background in Reiki originates from Japan, but it has been in the western world for decades. Intuitive energy healing is not aligned with any religion, but is open for anyone from all backgrounds to benefit from. All personal beliefs and religions are respected when I work on your specific pet. If there are specific requests you may have to better respect your values, please be open and communicate that before a session is complete. There are some terms used when describing what comes through to me in an animal healing session that may seem more aligned with some beliefs than others, however the terms used are simply what resonates with myself and my background but can also be synonyms for terms used in other cultures. For example, if I note calling something that has given guidance a spirit guide, others may call them angels, light beings, ancestors, deities, totems, or ascended masters. All these terms have the same meaning of providing spiritual guidance and support to individuals, and the result guidance is the same. I do my best to clarify what comes through to me, and any questions are welcome after a voice recording is listened to, for clarifications. I pride myself in being as inclusive and non-discriminatory as possible, I believe every soul benefits from Energy Healing and I look forward to meeting clients from all ways of life with the only goal of helping and healing all animals.

To know when a first session is needed versus when to rebook can vary animal to animal. Many pet guardians book a first session when behavioural issues are getting worse and not better over time. Some may book a first session when their little one gets a first medical diagnosis from the vet. If your animal is experiencing increased negative side effects from consistent medication use, it may be a good time to start sessions to release medication toxins and boost the organs. Others may also book in if they know that their pet has struggled in the past and want to prevent issues in the future. For example, if your dog does not react well to young puppies and your family decides they want to add a new member to the family, it’s a great idea to have a session long in advance to the puppy’s arrival. That way the deeper root problems can heal, and the older dog can learn better emotional regulation to use once the puppy arrives. The general rule is if you feel there is something wrong and you have a negative gut feeling, it is a good idea to book in. I always tell my pet guardians that they know better than anyone else if something is wrong.

Once your pet has had a first session, you will always be told when it’s recommended from my guides of when another session can be booked. This ensures that a session is never booked too close together which can be really tough on the animal when too many things are healing out of the body at one time. The amount of time between each session can vary from 3 days to 8 weeks. Each situation is unique. That being said, some pet guardians will simply choose to wait and rebook when they feel their pet needs another. For example, If I am working on a cat that has digestive problems, the cat’s guardian may see improvement for 3 weeks after a session and then all of a sudden, those digestive issues resurface. At that point, they will reach out to me to see if their pet would benefit from another session. The more serious problems are typically worked on more frequently in the beginning of the process compared to animals who may just need a general clearing. Therefore, I will never state how often I think your pet needs a session until after working on them and speaking with my guides.

I am here for anything, big or small. No matter the issue there is no judgment from myself, only the desire to help. If you are unsure when to rebook, or even unsure if a session could actually help your little one, you can feel free to email me. I will reply as soon as possible and answer all the questions I can.

No, my sessions will never replace the importance of a veterinarian, and I myself have a great relationship with my own personal vet. There is a huge benefit in utilizing both ways of healing together. It is even in my consent form to acknowledge that vet visits are important and vital for the overall care of your pet. However, sessions can reduce the number of times you do need to see your vet outside of yearly check-ups.

My sessions assist in reducing side effects from heavy medications, ensuring organs are as healthy as possible during medical treatments, as well as quickening healing after a major surgery. Catching things like dehydration early can make pet guardians aware to monitor their pet more closely. There have even been instances where I am guided to let a client know to take their animal to the vet right away when they hadn’t thought it necessary before. This ended up reducing increased costs that would have occurred if they went to the vet at a later date, making the condition more difficult to treat.

Sometimes sessions can also help if there are two choices for your pet’s treatment and you are unsure which decision to make in your pet’s highest interest. For example, there are times when a decision needs to be made on whether to wait out a condition or to go into surgery right away. Usually, there are pros and cons to each decision that the vet will outline for the pet guardian and this is where I can come in. Being able to connect with your pet’s highest vibrational being and their own guides, I can understand what your pet may prefer at a soul level and which decision can give slightly better results. In addition, I can advise as to what to monitor and be aware of if you make a certain choice.

As pet guardians it is our job to utilize all ways of healing, and the physical and spiritual ways go hand in hand. Medicine can help your pet to stop having a physical symptom while energy work can help your pet experience internal healing at the core of the problem. It’s a symbiotic relationship. No animal should ever be in pain, and energy sessions do not heal instantaneously, therefore pain meds from the vet should absolutely be utilized when needed. I am also unable to diagnose diseases, so to gain clarity a vet must be involved in your pet’s care. Everything is a balance, and many pet guardians utilize multiple kinds of treatments. Sessions can be used alongside these treatments harmoniously.

The only time a vet and sessions may not align can be with specific guidance during a session. Sometimes a pet may not need every single vaccine that year, or the animal’s body is unable to properly process an amount of medication and needs a reduction or change of meds. Needing to change the brand or amount of medications can be discovered in sessions before the animal has an outward physical negative reaction. To change the medication the pet guardian has a right to request a variation from their vet that is still as beneficial for their pet. Another example can be diet changes. In a session, there can be clarity on what proteins may work best in the digestive system or even if a certain brand of food is not aligning in that animal’s best interests. In some sessions, there may be guidance to either add something to meals or to change multiple things. Each case is unique and sometimes the guidance can differ from a veterinarian’s advice. All situations differing from a vet’s professional advice is taken with great care and is only ever done in your pet’s best interest. These situations are not taken lightly and are rare. With that being said, you as the pet guardian are always in charge and have free will to make a decision on what guidance may or may not align and resonate with you.

To better understand exactly what a home clearing is, please refer to the tab on the website called Home/Property Clearings. Just as beneficial as a home clearing is for humans, it is equally beneficial to our pets. Our animals typically spend more time in a home than we do, so it only makes sense that a property filled with negative residuals will affect them more than us. Animals are more in tune to their environment and if family members are fighting or grieving, that stress and grief can linger and impact the pet for a long while. A cleared, high vibrational home can allow more peace and harmony to occur there for all. This can also increase recovery time in a pet’s healing from illness and surgery. If you find your animal staring or barking at certain walls or corners, it may be time to book in a property clearing with me.

An End of Life session is one that is only ever booked once for your animal. It is a session completed when your pet is nearing their time of passing or when a pre-booked euthanasia is taking place.

These sessions are done to ease your pet’s passing, to allow a quicker transition and to do a final clearing of negative imprints from this life so they can begin their new journey filled with happiness and love. Some pets will give final messages or show me a favourite memory to pass on to their loved ones, while others will just feel peace and readiness to leave this physical plane without the extra communication. I can relieve any pain they are experiencing so that they can gain some clarity with their humans one last time.

Our animals view death so differently from us. There is no fear or worry, only concern for those they leave behind. I have worked on a few animals ready to pass on and each time has been a special memory for me, filled with the strongest loving energy I have ever felt. I am so blessed to have been a part of those animal’s journeys, enabling them to feel safe and protected as they pass. Being able to confidently know that your pet is ready to go and to be told what they truly feel at a soul level in that moment can be a small help in the process of your grieving. Some animals may have certain requests for their loved ones when they leave. My own childhood dog had many requests, one being exactly where he wanted to be buried and how he was to buried. When sorrow and grief weigh too hard, I can be a resource to ease concerns and to bring high vibrational energy directly into your loved one for the most harmonious and peaceful transition into the next chapter.

Personal Healing Experiences With Animals

Piper

I rescued my sweet girl in August 2024 when she was 5 years old as part of a barn buddy program. This means she was deemed unadoptable due to aggression, biting, and overall fear of humans and would benefit from being an outdoor only cat. It took four staff members and 35 minutes to put her in a crate just for me to take her home, that’s how much she hated to be touched. Piper was my first rescue and she had many serious behavioural issues so there were many hesitations on whether I could truly help her to ever feel safe around people. At first, I rescued her to be a companion to my working outdoor puppy at the time and I knew that I would be okay if she wanted nothing to do with me. She had experienced so much trauma inside a home that when she was brought indoors during extreme weather, she would exhibit an immediate change in behaviour. Piper would become defensive, overly irritated and naughty, and would bite me or hiss at me, which is the opposite of who she is on a soul-level. She came from an abusive, neglectful home and was overweight and it was obvious that she had been slapped and kicked because she would flinch at touch and big boots. She used to only let me touch her neck and head. Her tail was absolutely a no touching zone. However, I respected her boundaries and did energy work on her regularly and over time, she changed. Living in an environment where peace and safety was my top priority for her, Piper quickly blossomed. She is my big cuddle bug, she is always found sunbathing on the porch, and most importantly she trusts me. I can touch her anywhere, she’s no longer afraid of any sounds even when I wear big winter boots, and she will let me put her in a crate to go to the vet with zero hassle. That trust I have gained means the world to me. She is absolutely unrecognizable in one short year. She still does not trust strangers or small children; however, she now gives warnings before lashing out which she never did before, and that is a huge improvement! Her day-to-day life is full of comfort, soft touches, a full belly and so much love. Energy work is a part of my day-to-day life and I have zero doubt that it is what has allowed me to give Piper back a high quality of life and so much happiness. Seeing first hand Piper’s transformation has given so much clarity that there is always hope. Patience, selflessness and love for our pets can heal anything. Love you, Piper!

Isha

Isha is a juvenile Blue-Winged Teal wild duckling. My cousin brought her to me after finding her weak, tired and alone with no ponds nearby and predators around. She was unable to fly yet so I decided to take Isha in. I was already raising young domestic ducks of my own at that same time so I had everything that was needed to help her. I am not a registered wildlife rehabilitator so if she had broken bones or serious health issues they would have been called immediately. She was dehydrated, hungry, lonely, scared and was unable to make any sounds. I was able to confirm there were no internal injuries by using energy to quickly scan her body and was able to make a plan to get her healthy once again. The issues present were ones I could confidently handle, with the only goal being to release her safely into the wild once she could fly. I kept her inside under a heat lamp with one of my smallest ducklings to keep Isha company until she was eating and drinking reliably. Once I felt she was strong enough, I began to integrate her outside into my little flock where she began to thrive, grow and talk. Her fear of me and humans was something I never wanted to change for her own safety once released so I rarely handled her unless necessary to move her or examine her body. I knew that she was not designed to last our long Alberta winters and that she would need to fly to warmer weather. She needed safety and protection in a flock of her own kind and that kind of true socialization is not possible outside of nature. My plan to release her was just that, a plan. Isha took it upon herself to know when she was ready, and one day flew out of the coop of her own free will and headed in the direction of the nearby pond. I had hoped to release her closer to where she was found, but nature does not abide by our rules. Yes, I could have kept her indoors to prevent escaping but in order to thrive she needed to be outdoors surrounded by other ducks. Isha came into my life unexpectedly and left just the same. I’m so grateful I could temporarily aid her at such a perilous time in her life and I send her so much love and light to have a bright loving future! Keep in mind that all wildlife should only be interacted with if it’s absolutely necessary. Please contact your local authorities and rehabilitators if you find yourself in a similar situation.

Testimonials

Going to the vet is a very stressful time for both my cats and me. So, besides the yearly vaccinations required I don’t like to put my cats through the trauma and anxiety of going to the vet.  I am incredibly grateful to Emily for her remarkable distance healing abilities which allow my cats to stay home during their healing sessions.  I already had an understanding of what animal healing was before I reached out to Emily and recognized it was exactly what my cats required.  This has had a profound impact on both of my cats who each have struggled with different health problems.  To name a few, gum inflammation, headaches, bladder infection, allergies, stress, anxiety, pain.  I have noticed remarkable improvements in both of my cats.  But also, it is more than that, my cats are calmer and more relaxed, anxiety noticeably less.  They are more engaged, their energy levels improved, and an overall sense of balance is restored in their demeanor.

It’s clear that Emily’s healing abilities come from a place of deep care and understanding.  I wholeheartedly recommend Emily to anyone looking to support their pet’s well-being.

Emily has been such a blessing for my dog, Peru. Before working with her, Peru was often anxious and seemed to carry a lot of tension. After just a few energy healing sessions, I noticed such a beautiful change – she became calmer, more playful, and visibly more at ease. Emily has a truly special gift and such a gentle, intuitive connection with animals. I’m so grateful for the peace and balance she’s brought into Peru’s life – and mine!
